HCG Diet-Week One

by Mary O'Bryan on November 3, 2010

I began the HCG injections the morning after meeting with the doctor. Giving myself a shot was not hard. I remember practicing on an orange when I had to give myself allergy shots. The hard part was gorging. Yes, you read that right. The first two days of the diet you are suppose to gorge on high fat foods. For someone that is not obese, it was very hard to allow myself to eat like that. All the information I read assured me that it was an essential part of the weight loss. I was meeting a friend for breakfast and when I ordered cream gravy with my biscuit, bacon and eggs, she knew something was up. I confessed to starting a diet to get rid of my stomach and  she said that no diet can be specific to the stomach. She called me later that day and said that her daughter in L. A. knew about the diet and all the stars in Hollywood use it. Great. Me and Angelina Jolie!

Bought chocolate glazed, chocolate filled, and other assortments of donuts. Ate several cookies. I was really beginning to enjoy it. Went to my favorite burger place and got one with bacon!

Day one of actually being on what I call a diet began on a Sunday. Ate an orange for breakfast. Took a diet coke to church. I know how bad they are for me but to cut it off cold turkey would not have been fun. I have done that before and had a massive headache. I hope to limit myself to one a day…like a cup of coffee. Ran home from church to eat my 4 ounces of meat, breadstick, and a veggie before meeting some friends at our usual Sunday lunch place. I just commented that I had already eaten and let it go at that.

Dinner: Had my 5 o’clock apple, 4 ounces of meat, breadstick, and veggie…MONDAY morning when I weighed I had lost 2 pounds. I was in shock. Maybe this really will work. Went out to lunch with a friend on Thursday and said the same,”I’ve already eaten” and ordered iced tea. Spent the weekend at a college football town with family and brought my shots and my own food. Monday morning was one week on the diet and I lost 6.5 pounds. Unbelievable. And I can honestly say that I have not been hungry. We’ll see.
